I am also now located within McHatties Wool Boutique at 103 Main Street, West Kilbride. Hope to see you there some time when you can see some of my work in the flesh. The Sam Browne bag - so called after the leather belt and handle combination used to form the bag structure. One of my all time favourites and has been commissioned a few times - each one different in colours to suit the client.
Horse's bit bag - no horses were harmed in the making of this bag, but a horses bit was used to form the handle. Wrapped in leather, you would never recognise it as that
Buxton bag - it's a long way - long enough to make this on the way there and back!! Then it was thrown in the washing machine to felt it and a couple of thin leather belts were used to form adjustable handles.
Ruth's bag - a present for my friend's daughter. Thank you Nora!!
Concertina felt bag - music to my fingers. Made up as I went along, the pattern evolved into what you now see. A leather handle tops it off making a useful, hard wearing, handy sized bag.
Group photo of various items
Felted storage bag - says it all really - Magazines, knitting projects, etc - many uses!
This is my own yarn spun from local Jacobs sheep and Shetland sheep fleeces. I have died a few skeins red, ginger and some blue too. Aran weight, it is also good for felting with once you have finished knitting so great for making sturdy felted bags. This is the now nearly famous One Piece Waiscoat. Available as a kit to knit yourself or come and do one of the One Piece Waiscoat workshops as this can be knitted in one day!!
Daphne's bag so named as one of my friends bought this one at a charity auction and gave it to Daphne who loved it!! A kind gesture from Roseann, it was hand felted using Jacob sheep fleece from a local herd and lined with a quilted padded lining.
Carol's bag - This one also is hand felted with a leather handle, buttons and has beautiful tomato colour quilted silk lining. Yum!
Carol's bag too. Leather/felt bag with Wensleydale cushion behind. Hand felted body with leather and suede upper part. The handle is suede too. Carol could not decide so she had both this and the one above!!
Ippiken bag - made from materials from a shop of that name in Much Wenlock, Shropshire. It was just after my first ever craft fair and I was so excited that someone had bought something I celebrated by buying the materials for this bag with the takings.
