I offer a wide range of knitted and felted goods all of which are one-off items, designed and created by me here in Lochwinnoch often using locally sourced materials - at least as often as possible.
Ever since I was a child I've been excited by colour and shape with an adult appreciation now added for texture as well, which results in unlimited options when it comes to making things. I'm mad about wool and all things woolly. I also like to use vintage and re-cycled materials in my designs - there's something very satisfying about taking garments and fabrics that have been set aside by others and breathing new life into them.
I also tend to use different types of items in ways not originally intended. For example using a military Sam Browne belt as the main frame for a bag or a horse's bit wrapped in leather as a handle for a bag - see the gallery for some images of these items.
Functional items feature most frequently as need often drives me to design something to suit my environment, including cushion covers, throws, rugs, bags, clothes and jewellery.
All items are for sale, please get in touch or come and see me at one of the craft fairs I attend (details in the announcements page). Alternatively you can now see the bags in the flesh at McHattie, 103 Main Street, West Kilbride KA23 9AP. In addition a pregramme of workshops is now available. Please call for details or have a look at the announcements page.
